Mary worked on photos and blog stuff in the morning and we finished packing. We headed out for lunch at a nearby restaurant. It was in an old Schreirestoren tower. It was originally part of the old medieval city wall and overlooked the harbor. It was the location from which Henry Hudson, a famous explorer, headed out for his journey to North America. History is everywhere here.
We then went back to the hotel to get our luggage and caught a taxi to take us to one of the Amsterdam harbors where our home for the next week was docked. This is our sixth cruise with Amawaters and our first on the AmaSiena.
There are about
140 guests aboard the AmaSiena and about 100 of them are Mormons with a tour
out of Salt Lake City. The poor beverage
servers didn’t quite know what to do. Almost
no wine or beer or drinks served. Almost
everyone seemed to want diet coke (apparently the state drink of Utah).
